In the WebSummit in Lisbon we interview, for the second time, Nicolas Dessaigne, CEO & Co-founder of enterprise search platform Algolia.
* Algolia has raised a further $110 million, bringing total funding to $183M.
* If you think Google leads that space, you’d be wrong. Google created the market, and then stopped focussing on it. G2 has Algolia as clear leader in Enterprise Search software. Public sources estimate 50M, but my sources tell me they are tracking well north of 70M ARR for this year.
* Algolia is a global company with 350 employees including over 180 in Paris and over 70 in San Francisco. That’s 130% growth over the last 2 years. Also offices in Atlanta, New York, London and Tokyo.
* 8K customers including Stripe, Slack Coursera, Dior, Lacoste, Intuit
* 70B queries a month
* The company is obsessed with the developer experience because they have such a huge impact on everything from the buying decision to the success of the implementation
For Nicolas developers are the new heroes and they have a big influence on the buying decision for Algolia. The company is in the news having raised $110M after the interview we did. He was the 2nd person we’d ever interviewed. Check out episode 2 of 14 Minutes of SaaS if you’re interested in company culture.
