Edith Harbaugh, CEO and co-founder of LaunchDarkly, adores software so much that she’s built a product that helps other companies build better software. She also writes, codes, podcasts, runs ultra-marathons and mentors startups. All this while running a Silicon Valley star scale-up. Her company is less than 4 years old and has already raised $32 million. As with some of our previously interviewed founders from companies like Branch and Algolia, LaunchDarkly can’t follow the traditional Salesforce.com B2B SaaS playbook to scale. The sales cycle involves high-touch interaction with techies and product managers. Edith gets ideas while she runs distances up to 100 miles. “When you’re outside your mind starts to make connections because you’re not staring at a screen.”
